The Printed Shoe…

Posted by Ben D. on March 24, 2010 at 11:28 pm.

In Pauline Van Dongen’s collection for her fashion Master Studies at ArtEZ in Arnhem, was a fascinating item done in collaboration with FOC, 3D printed shoes. Made of laser sintered nylon, a partner of FOC’s , CNC speedform, supported the creation of this futuristic concept by producing all shoes presented in her collection labeled Morphogenesis. 3D printing often used to model for architectural concepts or artistic sculpture is now crossing the line over to fashion. I have to say I love the heel and platform, however I’m not fond of the rope-like straps…
